What will it take to make LLMs reason?

Abstract

In the talk I will hijack the workshop to discuss this intriguing question. The main point of my talk is that the status quo of treating the problem of teaching LLMs to reason as a statistical learning problem is likely to have fundamental hurdles and hence we will need to go beyond the status quo
